A Valentine’s Slaughter.
2/12/20210
Never before have I returned to do a performance in such a short span of time. I know that I say I’ll come back at any time, but usually that is about 6 months to a year away. So tomorrow night, Feb 13th, this show will be either fucking out of this world or a train wreck of monstrous purporting.
I think it will be great and a blast to perform there again, I have new material about Valentine and relationships, my new job trying to be a D.J, and of course the regular shit you have come to love. “Hey, your eye is wandering and I can’t get my hand out”
So let’s fill this room and give the gift of love by bringing your significant other to come and see me.
There is no other way to celebrate V day than with the honest rants of me. So join me tomorrow night for my return

The Oregonian Article
01/16/2010
"Lonnie Bruhn's edgy, almost-angry comedy act fit the mood of the crowd"
-The Oregonian
What makes this article so special is now I can say I have all the major newspapers in the Portland area under my belt now. I have been fortunate enough to have had a feature write up in Willamette Week, The Portland Mercury, The Gresham Outlook and now finally The Oregonian. Even better, I make it in the Performing Arts top story section and The Oregonian is state wide. That paper is not the easiest one to crack either. I guess what really makes me proud is that I'm the blacksheep, I'm the guy who everyone is frightened to book. I'm too edgy for the clubs. How funny that although I'm to be considered one of the dirtiest comedians in the country I’m the only comedian in Portland to have had a feature article in all of Portland metro's major rags, from alternative to main stream. I guess despite what the industry feels about me, all that really matters is the laughter from the other side of the stage.

Returning to Corvallis , OR
01/06/2010
Well it is official. I am returning to Corvallis, OR on the 29th of Jan at Impulse Bar and Grill. I haven’t been back to Beaver country since 2007 so I am really looking forward to seeing old friends and new faces. I’ll be returning with some of the old favorites but I will be bringing some new material to the stage as well. This will be a full show so for those of you who haven’t seen my show in some time you’ll will be happy to know I’m bringing everything I have to the stage.
Featuring for me will be Jessa Reed. She opened up for me on The Blacksheep Friday Benefit and truly one of the funniest comedians around. She’s just as brutally honest as I am so you can rest assured the night will be pact full of wrongness. I must warn you though, she still hasn’t pooped out her baby, if she doesn’t in the next week, I’ll be replacing her with someone who will not be with child. Fucking women, I know. Lets hope she can make, she’s great to watch.
I’ll also have a special guest spot by Mr. Jon Green, an up-in-coming comedian to the scene with an edge about him that I wouldn’t want my show to do without.
See you all on the 29th

Things will be changing in the way I promote
12/13/09
Networking websites have changed the way life is on the internet. Hell, why even go to a personal website any longer when you can read the feed off Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, or a blog.
The biggest problem is that some people have chosen sides. There are people that swear by Facebook now, and others that refuse to make the change. It leaves entertainers like me to work out a huge promotional campaign for all the fans spread across the Internet. It's like I'm the comedic version of a man-whore with illegitimate fans spread out everywhere. I have to promote on all of the sites to get the message out, plus my blog and my website. I have to update three different calendars and to be frank, it's fucking stupid.
What really frustrates me the most isn't the extra work involved but that what I really want to do is write new rants and fresh blogging material that is worth your time to read.
I can never do that when in promotional mode. Take for example this last promotional blitz. It was so important to me to get the word out for the benefit, and to make the night a success. It was for my son and his mom. I couldn't do anything else but promote because I wanted this night to be huge! It worked.
Everyone is promoting something though so it's all just white noise. What I really want to do is write material that's dark, funny, and entertaining. I want you to love to read my stuff and appreciate that I'm not one of the many shit heads that want you to go somewhere that you have no plans on going to.
So what will I do it about it? I'll tell you. I'll change the way I do things. Stating from this point on the way I promote will be much differently than before.
Here's how it will lay out:
* All news: All important events that are comedy related will be posted where they belong; on my website. That will include an updated schedule. The other place you will find the latest updates will be in my newsletter. So when you want to know what is going on, then my website is where you will want to visit or join the mailing list. The mailing list is good because I have a lot of info that I put in there, promotional give a ways and I don't send out the newsletter very much.
* The network Sites: I will make short blurbs on the network sites. These blurbs will merely inform you to read the latest from my website and that is it. Everything else I post on the network sites will be to entertain you and me.
* My blog: will not inform you of news any longer. My blog was meant for me to blog out new rants, stories and intimate glances into my life. My blog is meant for you to enjoy, so that is just what it will do. Go to my blog for a literary night out on the town so to speak.
* It is my plan to do something other comedians are not doing these days. I want to give you content that makes you laugh your ass off or gets you riled up.
The bottom line:
I would like to give you something off stage that makes you want to come and see me perform on stage. I don't want you showing up at a show because of my promotional skills.
What a weird concept I know but it's time to get back to what made you like me in the first place. My Comedy.
So see you on the other side of the joke.
The Blacksheep of Comedy

Blacksheep Friday was a huge success!
11/28/09
The show was everything I could hope for and more. We packed the house before 8:pm and every comic on the bill killed the room. What a great fucking line up. Dax Jordan was a great host and kept the show rolling the way a good conductor can. What better way to help out with a benefit then to donate $12 for a cause and laugh all night long. Laughter really goes a long ways, for you the audience and comedians too.
I want to thank everyone involved: Frank, the owner of Dante’s and his kick ass staff!. All the comedians, Dax Jordan, Jessa Reed, Don Frost, Joe Fontenot, Kristine Levin, and the band Rustmine. Everyone was at the top of their game last night and we raised a lot of money for my boy.
I also want to thank everyone who was in attendance last night. I really have the best fans ever.
If you still would like to help, please donate online, every bit helps.
Thanks

The Metroscope Interview for the Blacksheep Benefit
11/23/09
The Black Sheep Benefit is this Friday. While promoting for the show I had the pleasure to sit down and do an intimate interview with a good friend and host of Metroscope, Ted Douglas. This really meant a lot because this is a show that is broadcasted to all six Entercom stations here in the Portland area.
Here is the podcast version to that interview. Just go to the site and hit the podcast episode button and choose the second one down.

More Press on me
03.7.2009: Lonnie Bruhn
The day of the Harvey's show Willamette Week did a fantastic feature on me and about the ban at Harvey's and my return. If you haven't had a chance to read it, it's a good article.
No Funny Business by ETHAN SMITH
If you really want to go get an idea of what I'm about, I recently did a Q & A with Accessible Portugal Online Magazine. The editing is a bit choppy on their end but It is the most in depth Q and A interview I've given and worth the time to take a break from your work or your porn and read it.
Don't ask me how they found me but apparently Cripples are Gods there.
